Income Management Officer 

Birmingham 

£28,754.89 per annum plus £1680 car allowance

37.5 hours per week

The Group consists of;

Trident Housing, which provides landlord services for the Group in respect of housing management and maintenance
Trident Reach, which is a registered care and support charity delivering person-centred care and support services. These services include supporting people within registered care, domiciliary care, people with learning difficulties, those with mental health needs, young people at risk, older people, BME groups, people at risk of being homeless, those seeking employability, education and training opportunities and those fleeing domestic abuse.

About You

Are you target driven, proactive and passionate about delivering excellent customer service? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Income Management Officer to join the Income Management Team at Trident Group.

You will play a key role in maximising income for the Group along with helping our customers to sustain their tenancies.

Main Responsibilities

To maximise collection of rent and reducing arrears on a patch of around 600 properties.
To provide a proactive customer focused service to Trident customers.
Ensure all rent accounts are monitored regularly and prompt action is taken to prevent rent debt or the escalation of rent debt for our customers, in line with our policies.
To carry out home visits or virtual face to face contact in connection with income recovery or arrears prevention.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits, providing information and signposting customers to relevant agencies.
To prepare cases for court and represent Trident Group in possession cases as necessary.
To ensure that clear and up to date information is maintained on Tridents CRM.
To work in partnership with external agencies to ensure that Trident Group is delivering a responsive service and maximising income recovery.
Achieving agreed performance targets for the collection of rent and reduction in arrears.
To attend meetings and carry out duties outside of normal office hours when necessary for the delivery of the service.

Education

5 GCSE’s or equivalent to include maths and English or other relevant professional qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

Good understanding of social housing issues
A demonstratable knowledge of best practice in income management and debt collection
A demonstratable knowledge of Housing and Welfare Benefits.
Computer literate understanding of spreadsheets and ability to use various software packages.
Ability to use own initiative in dealing with a wide variety of people.
A working knowledge of legislation and the regulatory requirements relevant to the department.
Experience of working within a busy environment.
High level of numeracy and literacy
Understanding of health and safety responsibilities, including lone working.
Experience of working with Microsoft applications
Experience of building effective relationships with internal and external partners
Clean driving licence with access to a motor vehicle

Experience

Experience of working in income recovery
Experience of preparing court papers and presenting cases at County Court
