We are recruting on behalf of our client for a Head of Operations Manager Pharmaceuticals who will also look after the Suppply chain and quality aspects.

Ensure Operations and Supply Chain Activities comply with all Regulatory requirements
Be responsible for the operation, both technically and commercially, of the business. This includes packaging management, procurement, storage and distribution, and QA.
Provide Training & support & monitor performance for all Supply Chain activities
Deputise for the Managing Director as needed and in his absence be responsible for the overall operation
1. Duties:-
Ensure that roles identified in the SOP’s as being the responsibility of the Operations Director are carried out. Specifically:
Any of the duties of the Managing Director as delegated by the Managing Director.
Develop Supply Chain Managers to cover Operations Director role.
Ensure S&OP and MRP (including artwork compliance) is carried out as required by specific clients/products.
Ensure supply chain costs are managed in line with Therismos and client expectations as required by specific clients/products.
Ensure operations related projects and reports are completed.
Maintain oversight of the inventory strategy to minimise write offs / losses.
Ensure management of outsourced activities is conducted in accordance with Therismos processes and that commercial agreements are current and relevant QTAs are in place.
Approve work orders placed on CMOs for packaging activities.
Maintain oversight of sales activities and take action where required including ensuring compliance with exports of unlicensed products and sales of controlled drugs.
Ensure the company meets all Regulatory requirements for the transportation, storage & distribution of products to its customers, supply of product from suppliers, and movement of stock between pre-wholesalers / storage locations. Ensure appropriate risk assessments, carrier and shipper qualifications / validations are completed.
Negotiate and agree commercial terms for supply of medical product, ensuring designated wholesaler responsibilities are determined for products database is current. Ensure any discrepancies in purchases are investigated and resolved.
Maintain oversight of returned product, out of date stock or damaged stock in line with current GDP guidelines, including oversight of destruction processes.
In the event of a recall liaise with the client and customers as necessary and carry out responsibilities. Review dummy recall results.
Identify if planned purchases constitute import of medicine or controlled drug and ensure appropriate processes are used including submission of a Notification Application to the MHRA.
Ensure staff are trained and processes are adhered to in the maintenance of the controlled drugs licence, including related pre-wholesaler activities, customer and supplier verification and unexplained loss or theft.
Review and approve Specifications e.g. transport assessments
Maintain oversight and review & approve all Deviation and CAPA activity
