Overview

The Carpenter and Multi-Skilled Trade role entails providing effective maintenance, repair, and construction services throughout the company to minimize building defects, downtime, and maximize regular maintenance.

Responsibilities

We re currently recruiting for a Facilities Technician responsible for the maintenance of our successful Accident Repair Network with the main focus on Carpentry.

The Carpenter and Multi-Skilled Trade role entails providing effective maintenance, repair, and construction services throughout the company to minimize building defects, downtime, and maximize regular maintenance.
Ability to construct offices, small structures, and respond quickly to emergency situations.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans.
Perform routine maintenance on production equipment and troubleshoot electrical issues.
Have a good level of plumbing knowledge and be able to carry out plumbing duties according to regulations.
Perform repairs to Solus locations including door repairs, roof repairs, and general maintenance requirements.
Must be available to work late hours, overnight, and weekends.
Strong customer service skills and critical thinking ability.
Conduct a program of planned preventive maintenance for all company buildings and utilities.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and schedules to comply with regulations and company requirements.
Coordinate with external contractors and ensure adequate supplies of spares on site.
Update technical files for plant and equipment and conduct health and safety checks and inspections.
Communicate process changes and liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary.
Qualifications
Appropriate qualification in either Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Bench Joinery or Site Carpentry.
Excellent understanding of safety rules in an industrial setting.
Excellent communication ability and the ability to maintain effective internal and external relationships.
Must be able to work late hours, overnight stays and should be able to work weekends as well as required
