Due to continued growth Next Generation are recruiting for a NPI Engineer to work with a well-established engineering company based near Stourbridge. As the NPI Engineer you will be responsible for developing a right first-time approach to product development process and manufacture of prototypes.

Shift pattern for the NPI Engineer.

* Monday - Friday (07.00am – 16:00pm)

Duties of the NPI Engineer:

* Clear and concise communication and reporting about all activities to customers and stakeholders including weekly status updates and a pre-production kick-off

* Coordinate action plans and ensure cross functionality between departments.

* Follow and record predefined, measurable steps with key check points before proceeding from one step to the next.

* Coordinate sample process from start to finish.

* Work closely with tooling engineers, external suppliers: scanning, measurement, pattern-shops, technical resource (suppliers) contractors of cores and ancillaries

* Prioritise work to minimise our own costs through the development of in-house capabilities.

* To support projects for yield improvement and reduction of non-added value work

* Reviewing production documentation as work instructions, workflow documentation, traceability of production data

* Pioneer design modifications needed to enhance the quality, reduce lead time, tooling and manufacturing costs.

* Identify and support procurement of new tools required for new projects / production.

* Routinely produce a weekly / monthly status report for management to understand current status of activities.

* Continuously review best practices and implement learnings accordingly.

* Promote lean manufacturing / continuous improvement tools where possible.

* Utilise and support operational methodology of simulation software.

The successful candidate for the NPI Engineers position will have the following experience:

* 3 – 5 year’s experience working as an NPI or NPD Engineer (essential).

* Experienced in the application of quality tools essential to New Production Introduction - DFMEA, PFMEA , Control Plans and process/quality auditing (essential)

* Experience working within a Castings environment (Desirable)
