Role Summary:

The Project Manager will be responsible for effectively managing communications and timelines between customers, internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and accreditation bodies such as BSI. This role requires regular reporting on project status, time compliance, and challenges to be overcome. As the Project Manager, you will also lead and manage a team to ensure the project is delivered within quality, cost, and delivery objectives. You will also be responsible for aligning customer requirements and support plans with our internal timing plans.

Purpose of Role:

The primary focus of this role is to manage communications and timelines for Interim and Mass Production products, ensuring that project status is tracked and any potential risks or opportunities are highlighted. The Project Manager will also play a crucial role in complying with the company NPI system, presenting at internal control/review meetings, and reporting to the board as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Effectively manage communications and timelines for Interim and Mass Production products, including customers, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers
Regularly report on project status, in accordance with quality and delivery objectives, highlighting any risks or opportunities
Comply with the NPI system and present at internal control/review meetings 
Report to the board as required
Lead and manage a team to ensure effective use of resources in delivering project quality, cost, and delivery within the project scope
Ensure compliance with eAPQP and provide data and documentation to confirm metrics/goals have been achieved, in close coordination with the nominated customer contact
Maintain and update project timing plans to reflect the overall status, linking to sub-plans as needed for clarity and accuracy
Align customer requirements and support plans with our internal timing plans, updating as necessary
Represent the Electric Vehicle (EV) Business Unit at communications events, gathering and communicating relevant data back to the business, following up on any associated actions, and presenting at events as needed
Collaborate with the site engineering team to facilitate communication regarding the reconfiguration of manufacturing site
Undertake special projects as required

Skills/Knowledge Required:

At least 4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive sector
Expertise in injection moulding and materials conversion/processing is preferred
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify and present complex data for a broader understanding
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing complex projects and multi-functional teams
Familiarity with Microsoft project management tools, including MS Project and Excel
Technical proficiency to effectively present system status
Ability to thrive in a diverse and dynamic environment
Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO standards, including ISO9000, ISO14001, ISO45001, and ISO50001, as well as Health, Safety, and Environmental practises
Understanding of cost and financial implications
Ability to lead a team and meet defined deadlines
Valid full driving licence required
