SEN Teaching Assistant
Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification

Location: Birmingham
Daily Rate: £85 - £95
Employment: Long term to permanent Monday to Friday (8.30am – 3.30pm)

GSL Education are currently supporting a primary school in Birmingham looking for experienced special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistants who will be involved in working 1:1 and with small groups of children with PMLD, ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviour. They are looking for a staff member who has a good understanding of the education curriculum and is able to deliver English, Maths & Science.

Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 behaviour support to pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN requirements.
Managing and implementing appropriate structures to manage challenging behaviour.
Acting as a positive role model and providing nurture support.
Providing numeracy and literacy booster sessions out of the classroom.
Ensuring you read about the child’s requirements.
Caring for the welfare of pupils, including toileting and feeding as required.
Assisting pupils with dressing/changing for activities/personal hygiene.
Requirements:

High standards of written and spoken English and Maths.
Understand and updated with the school curriculum of core subjects, English, Maths and Science.
NVQ Level 2 Childcare, Learning and Development or equivalent qualification.
Willingness to undertake all training necessary to perform the role.

Previous experience working with children with complex and profound learning difficulties.
Personal care is a must.
You must be able to work 5 days a week with reliability and commitment.
