Their mission is to design, develop, and produce cutting-edge power electronics systems and components for automotive electric vehicles, rail, and renewable energy sectors.

Overview of the role as Electrical Hardware Engineer:

I am seeking a Senior level Electrical Hardware Engineer primarily focused on new solar inverter projects. This role involves optimising the hardware design of string photovoltaic inverters utilising advanced power electronics technology and proficient PCB design skills.

Responsibilities as Electrical Hardware Engineer:

Select and simulate topologies for DC-AC inverters and DC-DC converters
Using KiCAD, design schematics and PCB layouts for DC-AC inverters and DC-DC converters
Choose sensors and design circuits for current, voltage, and temperature measurement
Participate in designing gate drivers for discrete silicon IGBT or silicon carbide MOSFET
Research advanced technology for onboard design for solar inverters and boost converters
Contribute to the development of the technical route planning
Define technical specifications and interfaces for components, and select and source components
Document design workOther Responsibilities as Electrical Hardware Engineer:

Control the budget for prototype development
Collaborate with other teams and colleagues on current projects, organise meetings, and report on key issues
Maintain effective working relationships with core technology members to ensure efficient delivery of technical informationSkills and Experience that we're looking for:

Schematic design and PCB routing experience for high voltage (DC bus voltage over 500V) converter development
Understanding of three-phase, three-level, or multilevel DC-AC inverter and prototype design using discrete devices
Solid knowledge of boost DC-DC converter and prototype design with discrete devices
Experienced in designing string tens of kW photovoltaic converters, or tangible experience working on projects involving high efficiency, high power onboard EV inverters and/or onboard EV chargers
Proficient in power electronics simulation
