Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial aspects of our construction projects. The successful candidate will manage our team of Estimators and also provide commercial support to the Projects Team, ensuring successful negotiation and compliance with all contractual requirements and the timely application for payment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, cost management, estimation and commercial negotiation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Line Management of a Team of Estimators and a Commercial Assistant, providing guidance, support, and training as needed. Set challenging targets for the Estimation Team.
* The Review and Negotiation of Contractual documents received from our clients, to ensure favourable terms and conditions, recording any residual risks.
* Responsible for overseeing the Application for Payment function.
* As a Team, prepare cost estimates for construction and fit out projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client requirements.
* Collaborate internally with Project Managers and Designers, as well as the Sales Team and Finance Department to ensure alignment on financial goals.
* Evaluate project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost savings or value engineering opportunities.
* Bid Management of the Estimation element of larger Projects.
* Prepare and present reports and financial analyses to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
* Support Project Managers during the Final Account process, and support the compilation and agreement of Projects variations.
* Drive accuracy and risk management within the Estimation function. Along with maintenance of existing Cost Estimation tools and templates.
* Drive the automation of the Estimation function.
* Mentoring of individuals within the business regarding Estimation, Commercial Management and Change Management.
* Seek quotations from the supply chain, to support the tender process.
* Take pride in all activities, ensuring that work is completed on time, to a high standard and in adherence with Departmental Processes & Procedures, also upholding the values of the organization, interacting with professionalism, respect and integrity.
* Participation in additional projects and activities, as directed by the Head of Department.

Experience & Qualifications
* Required: Proven Management experience and experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
* Required: Experience of either the Construction / Fit Out / Civil Engineering Industry.
* Required: An understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
* Required: Familiarity with NEC forms of contract and current Construction Law.
* Highly Preferable: Professional Accreditation.
* Highly Preferable: Knowledge of Nav/BC365.
