Are you a driven, passionate and dedicated Senior Design Engineer with experience Automotive/Aerospace Engineering?
GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with one of the world's largest suppliers of advanced aerospace and defence products with an international reach. We are recruiting on their behalf for a Senior Design Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent contract.
The successful candidate can expect a salary up to £50k, which is pending relevant experience, plus excellent company benefits and the opportunity to join a fast growing, hugely successful organisation.
To be considered, you must hold a relevant degree in engineering and demonstrate expertise in complex product design solutions and the design definition process. As Senior Design Engineer, you will work with all engineering disciplines, to ensure designs meet customer and stakeholders’ requirements (safety, functional specifications, quality, cost, schedule)
Senior Design Engineer main duties:
* Responsible for the detail design and definition on NPI, Legacy and Development projects
* Responsible for the delivery of engineering milestones across projects and components
* Support design reviews
* Supervise, check, and validate design activities and deliverables through the product life cycle
* Responsible for applying processes and methods for product design, and ensuring process compliance, including: requirements management, change management, design optimization, DFMEA, expertise in CAD tools (NX), PLM (Teamcenter) robust design, design for Six Sigma, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, design for manufacturing, design validation, model based definition, knowledge management (lessons learnt, design guides)
Senior Design Engineer required skills and experience:
* Demonstrated technical expertise in previous roles 5years plus
* Education – HND or Higher or relevant experience
* Experience – Demonstrated expertise in delivering complex design solutions preferably in the Aerospace industry
* Expertise in the design and definition process of complex products through the product life cycle
* Expertise in CAD tools (ideally NX) and PLM (Teamcenter)
* Preferably experienced in heat exchangers, Ozone convertors and fluid management systems
* Experience in additive manufacturing design would be advantageous
* Excellent analytical and communication skills at all levels
