As a Project Engineer, you will collaborate closely with your R&D department to ensure that all aspects of new product introduction, business expansion, and critical activities are meticulously structured and project-managed, facilitating a seamless transition into production. This involves meticulously mapping product development phases, gateways, risk factors, and dependencies to ensure the timely delivery of crucial project milestones. Keep the wider business informed through comprehensive reporting and updates on project progress. Work in tandem with global New Product Development (NPD) teams and UK Manufacturing Quality functions to ensure that customer requirements and regulatory standards are thoroughly understood and consistently met. Provide technical guidance to both internal and external stakeholders, addressing issues that may arise during design, construction, and implementation phases. Additionally, you will oversee all pre-manufacturing engineering processes, defining protocols for design, manufacturing, and assembly to support the successful launch of new products. This includes managing prototype builds and maintaining technical documentation, such as reports, test procedures, and specifications. Play a pivotal role in facilitating cross-functional collaboration in the creation, review, and approval of process documentation, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Control Plans.

Project Engineer Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience of Product Development within Manufacturing and / or Process Engineering, Prototype Machine build and test environment.
Project Management experience.
Knowledge of product launch processes and experience in the implementation of the Core Quality Tools: Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
Working experience within a technical product production environment.
Experience with CAD (Solidworks / Creo) and the ability to interpret technical drawings and tolerancing, including experience in GD&T.
Good analytical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, as well as the drive to learn and develop own skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong aptitude for hands-on engineering.
Desirable

Educated to degree level within a relevant discipline.
PRINCE2, APM, or PMP trained.
Six Sigma Green Belt or above.
Experience within procurement, maintenance, and knowledge of relevant standards including BSi, ASME and other National Standards.
Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Systems Planning and Implementation.
An understanding of UK HSE regulations (IOSH Trained).
