Work a 4 day working week, with a maximum 48 hours worked each week

We are recruiting an experienced Sous Chef for this stunning 4 star, 2 AA Rosette Country Hotel, situated in this lovely village on the edges of the North Yorkshire Moors, this intimate period venue is very well known for its high quality food, location & atmosphere, & has successfully been serving 2 rosette dining and events for a number of years.

Being part of a small group of very high quality country hotels, the structure and support is in place to help any senior chef coming into the company, and is the ideal kitchen for a career minded enthusiastic Sous chef to really hone their craft, with the added bonus of working a 4 day week, this position also offers a fantastic work/life balance

This position offers a great salary, short term live-in for a relocation, and the opportunity to work with some of the best local ingredients North Yorkshire has to offer.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

A proven background working in fresh food led kitchens, be it in hotel, gastro pub or a restaurant setting

Experience working in Banqueting & Events.

A CV that shows a steady progression though to Sous chef, with longevity in roles, no jumpy chefs here!

Have experience working within a medium sized team, and have the skills to enthuse & engage junior chefs

Experience running the kitchen in Heads chefs absence

A keen eye for seasonal produce & experience in menu planning, stock control & kitchen management

Have means of transport due to semi-rural location, although the Inn is commutable from Leeds, Skipton & Harrogate, & short term live-in is available.
