Sewell Wallis are partnering with a large, popular events business based in Doncaster who are seeking a Financial Controller to join their successful Finance team.

This is a great opportunity where you will work closely with senior members in playing a part in the strategic planning of both sides of the businesses, thus providing information to assist in achieving goals and targets set by the company!

What will you be doing?

Working closely with the Executive Director and Group Financial Controller in strategic planning for both businesses.
Deliver accurate and timely Management Accounts with forward-looking analysis on key trends including performance against budget for both revenue and costs.
Discuss and implement action plans where required to remedy gaps and shortfalls within the forecasts
Prepare annual statutory financial statements in line with current reporting standards and submit a detailed audit pack.
Responsible for the development of all members of staff within the accounts department, including annual performance appraisals.
Review the goals and targets of the department as set by the ED and Group Financial Controller.
Assist with preparing where necessary and review the monthly profit and loss accounts with the Executive Directors prior to submission to Group Finance advising of any issues that may have an impact on each month's trading result.
Ensure adequate controls are in place to ensure catering margins are safeguarded and stock levels monitored.
Appraise the senior team, Executive Director and accounts staff of the results post-event and record appropriate details for future forecasting/actions.What skills are we looking for?

ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified.
To have worked in a fast-paced multi-site environment, ideally sport or leisure background. Hotel experience is also highly advantageous.
To have previously managed a finance function, inclusive of providing 1:1's and appraisals.What is on offer?
