Exciting Opportunity: Compliance Manager

About the Client:

We are currently representing a dynamic organisation that is actively strengthening its team by appointing a Compliance Manager. This strategic role offers the chance to contribute significantly to Health and safety, Quality, Environmental Management, and team training and development within the business.

Role Overview:

As the Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining Health and safety, Quality, Environmental, and training aspects of our client's business. This position requires a proactive approach to legislative changes and the implementation of necessary modifications. The role also involves developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and drive improvements across these business areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety:

Take ownership of health & safety.
Update or develop relevant H&S policies and processes.
Conduct and update risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and lead accident investigations.
Environmental:

Oversee and develop environmental policies.
Ensure accurate reporting of packaging waste.
Work towards obtaining ISO 14001 accreditation.
Stay informed about relevant legislation affecting the business.
Quality Systems:

Develop and maintain quality systems, processes, and policies (ISO 9001, FSC).
Evaluate benefits of additional accreditations.
Make recommendations for improvements and required resources.
Training:

Ensure up-to-date training records.
Develop and maintain skills matrices.
Document training requirements.
Other:

Collaborate with external suppliers for policy development.
Liaise with external agencies (e.g., Health & Safety Executive, Environment agency).
Periodically review performance for cost reduction and efficiency opportunities.
Assist in presenting reports to senior executives and stakeholders.
Handle ad hoc tasks, including facilities management.
Requirements:

Significant experience in managing health & safety.
Demonstrable continuous improvement attitude.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Self-starter with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
Team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Good IT skills.
