An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quality Inspector (Warranty Engineer) to work in the Warranty Returns Department as part of the Quality Team for our client based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. This is a permanent position working on a day shift.
The Role
Key responsibilities for the role include:
* Process warranty failed components returned by customers, manufacturing and field
engineers for onward return and investigation by component manufacturers. Arrange for
customers to be credited with the value of failed components when warranty failure is
confirmed by manufacturers.
* Perform damaged unit returns inspection and assessment to determine damage incurred and the cost of repair and rectification.
* Provide support to the wider Quality Team to investigate supplier quality and other quality concerns.
Accountabilities
Key accountabilities for the role include:
* Maintain a safe workplace environment and ensure required housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
* Ensure that all warranty parts returned from the field are subject to visual assessment
* and/ or physical inspection, as appropriate, and compiling appropriate inspection reports.
* Manage return of warranty returned parts from the field and ensure their timely return to suppliers for detailed investigation and assessment in support of (1) supplier quality investigations; and (2) reaching warranty decisions.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Experience
The successful candidate should ideally have the following skills and experience:
* Proven experience gained in a manufacturing and/ or technical environment.
* Factory-build knowledge and experience of products, how the work should be undertaken and the importance of it being visually correct and compliant with agreed quality standards.
* Solid communication and IT skills (Outlook, Excel).
Hours: Day Shift 37.5 hours per week
