My clients are one of the UK’s largest suppliers of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and emergency backup generators. They offer a wide range of commercial and industrial power supply products to suit a variety of industries.

Their custom-designed Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS) are built to the indvidual requirements of each site. They can build scalable systems from 50kW to multi-megawatt systems either behind or in front of the meter.

About The Role

Recruiting for a Business Development Manager to work from home but cover the UK. This is a Permanent role, working full-time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, Car, bonus, and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

Be the main point contact for BESS, assisting new and existing clients as they travel through the customer journey from initial inquiry, through to client quotations that are technically and commercially accurate through to order placement. You will be the first point of contact for incoming sales inquiries for BESS and carry out initial prospect qualification using our modeling system.

What you’ll do

* Formation of UK and Ireland grid-scale battery development strategy, consistent with the broader ambition and strategy of the business.

* Development of business models and origination of opportunities to secure investment in UK and Ireland grid-scale battery storage projects, including through acquisition, partnership or brownfield/greenfield development. Focus on:

* Robust financial revenue models that undergo internal financial + risk scrutiny

* Project management of cross-functional teams to support and input into business development activities, including due diligence processes

* Development, validation and negotiation of contractual structures to support the business models, including:

* Share purchase and partnership agreements

* Optimisation agreements

* Other agreements as required

* Guiding projects through grid application processes both at distribution and transmission levels as required

* Actively review assigned opportunities in order to deliver timely processing of quotations

* Run indicative internal modeling for new inquiries

* Prioritise quotations according to urgency/client SLA/KPI requirements

* Provide quotation to end client and clarify any queries raised in connection with submitted documentation

Experience

An understanding of progress from lead, qualification to prospect to customer

Good communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders

Good planning, organisational and resourcing skills

Experience in CRM such as Salesforce, EFACS or equivalent management systems, and Microsoft Office

Experience in business development of industrial projects

Understanding of UK electricity markets and/or battery technology is an advantage

University degree in engineering and/or economics, or equivalent by experience

Ability to proactively work to deadlines on multiple projects concurrently
