Job Purpose
To provide a high level of service to stakeholders in relation to product quality and validation through application of inspection and test skills on shop processes on site and at customer locations.
Duties & responsibilities
* To carry out manual Ultrasonic inspection to recognised international standards on tube, forgings or rolled bar
* To set-up, calibrate and operate automated Ultrasonic Equipment for inspecting forged cylinders
* Provide technical advice on matters associated with non destructive testing
* Produce reports for calibration, inspection and testing carried out on the product Perform physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components and cylinders at key stages of production to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards Perform other NDT operations on manufactured products (Including but not limited to Visual / MPI / DPI)
* Control visiting third party inspectors and customers whilst operating in the inspection areas
* Perform and document first article inspections to support the component qualification process
* Carry out identification marking of product to ensure product traceability throughout its operational lifespan.
Skills & Qualifications
PCN Level 2 in Ultrasonics (castings / forgings)
Additional NDT qualifications
All positions at CSC are subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check
Experience in a similar inspection role
Engineering background
Skilled in the use of various measuring tools such as micrometres, callipers, gauges etc. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Working hours - Monday - Thursday (4 day working week) 6:30am - 4:15pm
