Wakefield Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join our Children Localities Team. This role focuses on providing comprehensive support to children and families within their local communities, ensuring the well-being and safety of children through effective interventions and support services.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments of children and families to identify their needs and develop tailored support plans.
Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and effective interventions to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work collaboratively with professionals from various agencies to provide coordinated support and services to children and families.
Support and Advocacy: Offer guidance, support, and advocacy for children and families, empowering them to achieve positive outcomes.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring all documentation complies with statutory requirements and best practices.
Crisis Intervention: Respond to emergencies and crises, providing immediate support and developing safety plans as needed.Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker: Must be a registered Social Worker with a recognized qualification.
Experience: Proven experience in child protection, family support, or a related field.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work and child protection.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
