Join a globally recognized leader in the paper industry. As a Process Control Engineer, you will be in charge of supervising the control system equipment, system software, and application software that regulate the entire process. This encompasses working together with operating departments to implement control strategies for new process equipment, enhancing controls on existing machinery, and collaborating with maintenance personnel and operations to identify and resolve any problems with process equipment to ensure seamless operations within specified parameters.
Key Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
Design and execute process control strategies for continuous and batch processes, encompassing regulatory control, control sequence, logic, and advanced control.
Develop, modify, and enhance HMI systems.
Continuously monitor and analyze control system performance, including loop analysis and tuning.
Introduce new control system technologies.
Assist in troubleshooting process issues by identifying the causes of process upsets and other anomalies.
Develop and maintain alarm systems.
Provide support for capital projects, including the ability to develop project justifications and manage process control-related capital projects or sub-projects.
Perform any other duties assigned.
Requirements
3 - 8 years process control experience required.
Good working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) – particularly Honeywell Experion or TDC; experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley ControlLogix) is a plus
BS Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Pulp/Paper Science)
Firm Foundation in industrial process knowledge.
Experience with instrumentation and electrical systems associated with process control systems.
Excellent computer skills – particularly Microsoft including Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Power Point.
Highly competent in data analysis and use of process data historians such as OSI PI or Capstone ParcView.
Understand P&ID drawings, loop sheets, and motor elementaries and be able to create these drawings as necessary to support project work and to maintain existing drawing using AutoCAD or equivalent drawing tools.
Licensed Professional Engineer in GA a plus.
Must currently residing and authorized to work in the United States.
