Software Systems Engineer

WE ARE SEEKING a software engineer with experience in software systems, especially ISS or the Commercial Crew Program (CCP) as it relates to launch vehicles and spacecraft software.
You will be working with the launch vehicle, spacecraft, and ground software teams across the various NASA centers and have the opportunity to support onsite meetings and support various commercial partners.
The goal is to assure that the software under development is safe, reliable, certifiable, and has been developed in compliance with the processes and standards specified in the applicable requirements documents.

Responsibilities
Work with various teams to understand space software systems of commercial partners
Understand, verify, and validate that commercial partners are meeting requirements
Review verification events for flight software code and scenario simulations, and test for launch and ascent
Research and provide external stakeholder testing evidence to drive closure of verification compliance requirements and verification events
Coordinate with other subsystems that interface with software
Review and understand software code, test cases, monte carlo, and models used in verification of flight software
Discuss and review topics related to Systems Engineering, Safety, Simulations, and Flight Ops, as it relates to flight software
Requirements
This position requires an Engineering BS or MS, preferably in software, aerospace, or other related disciplines
Experience in the following areas is also desired:
5+ years experience with software, systems engineering, configuration management, risk assessment, and verification and validation
Experience with NASA 7150.2c
Experience with understanding and following flight software code
Experience with modeling and simulation as related to flight software
Experience with NASA requirements and their flow-down to commercial partners
Strong problem solving and communication (verbal and written) skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Experience in testing and troubleshooting
Experience interfacing with internal/external customers and vendors
Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
Adequate knowledge of reading schematics, diagrams, and process documents for software
Strong documentation and writing skills
