Yellow 42 Recruitment are working on behalf of an exciting 4-Star Hotel Brand, opening a new hotel in the heart of Glasgow City Centre, who are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hotel Accountant to oversee the financial operations of this new venture.

The Job – Hotel Accountant

As the Hotel Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing budgets, and implementing effective financial controls.  You will work in conjunction with the General Manager and Group Financial Controller and manage all aspects of the hotel's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.  Other key responsibilities include:

Preparing and analysing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide accurate and timely financial information to management.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and procedures.
Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports for owners and stakeholders.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.

The Person – Hotel Accountant

The ideal candidate for The Hotel Accountant will have experience in this role, be part-qualified or qualified by experience – proficient in all aspects of hotel accounting and looking for a new challenge.  Have a strong knowledge of accounting principles and practice along with attention to detail and organisational skills.  Excellent communication skills and strong analytical abilities are essential.
