Driver - Position Overview & Purpose

Based on our prestigious PFI, defence sector contract at Northwood Headquarters, we are seeking an experienced,professional Driver to play a pivital role in support of the UK’s Principal Military Headquarters at Northwood HQ, driving both clients and colleagues to various locations across the UK.

The post requires an experienced Driver to portray a professional image in delivering a first-class service to both military and civil servants.

In the role of Driver, You will :-

* Drive a variety of vehicles within the pool, ranging from cars to minibuses.

* Provide services in accordance with both MoD and or civilian regulations.

* Complete first line maintenance, checks in accordance with vehicle specifications and requirements.

* Valeting and preparation of vehicles when not on driving duties.

As part of the Driver Team at Northwood HQ, your standard working hours are organised according to a 12 week shift pattern which will require you to work 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday within this period. For this reason, ideally you will reside within 30 mins travel time to Northwood HQ.

We’re looking for :-

* Ability to obtain security clearance to ‘SC’ level. In order to obtain clearance, the successful candidate will have been, continually, a resident in the UK for the past 5 years.

* Should the successful candidate not hold the relevant licence (D or D1 without “101” restriction or CPC), Skanska will look to support to obtain these within an agreed timescale.

* Driver CPC Qualification card (preferable).

* Driver Tachograph Card (preferable).

* Professional driving experience.

* A good geographical knowledge.

* Experience working in a transport environment.

* Extensive knowledge of driving regulations and drivers hours Regulations
