Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive financial strategy to support the company's growth and profitability.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP standards.
Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop financial plans that support strategic objectives.
Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
Manage the company's cash flow, including forecasting cash needs, monitoring banking activities, and optimizing cash management strategies.
Oversee the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve any audit findings.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development and ensure high performance.
Collaborate with senior management to provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making and drive business growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze financial data and identify trends and variances.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Proven leadership ability, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a team to achieve organizational goals.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
