Senior Staff Accountant

Position Overview: 
The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in the finance department, responsible for overseeing various accounting functions and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a senior accounting role and a proven track record of driving process improvements and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support decision-making
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial statements
Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and company policies and procedures
Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and tax filings
Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline workflows
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA certification preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting position
Thorough understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Famous, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and integrity
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
