Overview:We are searching for an experienced and dynamic Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will take a lead role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
General Ledger Management: Manage the general ledger and oversee the recording of financial transactions, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing support for forecasting activities. Collaborate with department heads to develop accurate budgets and track performance against targets.
Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits. Prepare audit schedules, provide documentation and support audit inquiries, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
Tax Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including the preparation of tax returns and filings. Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure timely compliance.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance internal controls, and improve efficiency. Implement best practices to optimize workflow and mitigate risks.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment and promote professional development opportunities.
Advisory Role: Serve as a trusted advisor to management on financial matters, including financial performance, investment opportunities, and risk management strategies.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Proven leadership abilities and experience in leading and developing a team.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
