Department Summary 
The Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool (FHSP) is a supportive housing rental subsidy program of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS), along with other governmental partners, managed-care organizations, and foundations. The goal of the FHSP is to secure quality affordable housing for extremely vulnerable Angelenos. Brilliant Corners, the central coordinating community-based partner for FHSP, works to secure a broad range of housing options, including individual apartments, blocks of units, and entire buildings. Brilliant Corners identifies and secures units Countywide, provides move-in assistance and rental subsidy disbursements, coordinates with case managers, and assists with neighborhood relations. 
 
Position Summary 
Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool (FHSP) Housing Supervisors work closely with the FHSP Housing Acquisitions Manager, FHSP Associate Director, and the larger FHSP team to scale the FHSP and meet the audacious goal of housing thousands of homeless Angelenos. The Housing Supervisor will manage 4-5 Housing Specialists and a Senior Housing Specialists. The Housing Supervisor will provide guidance and direction with unit acquisitions, inspection standards and account management to the Housing Specialist(s). The Housing Supervisor will participate in community meetings and track communications with landlords, and ongoing case management to ensure that tenants successfully acquire and retain housing suitable to their needs. The Housing Supervisor will provide insight to the status of the housing portfolio and will collaborate and strategize with the Occupancy team for future unit placements.  The Housing Supervisor will partner with internal teams to optimize the Unit Assignment and Unit Identification Process and create streamline procedures and strategies for favorable housing outcomes.
 
Position Responsibilities 
Supervise Housing Acquisition Specialists, including setting performance benchmarks and cultivating greater levels of leadership from your team.
Formulate and manage housing acquisition strategies based on current goals and trends.
Collaborate and present housing analytics and strategies to program leadership, funders, and sector partners.
Oversee Housing Specialists’ management of Key Accounts, and set expectations for best practices.
Present and speak at various community meetings and events.
Collaboratively build and maintain a robust portfolio of leased rental housing throughout LA County.
Stay abreast of rental housing pricing, patterns, and trends.
Provide direction with housing placements and assignments.
Assist with housing and tenant related emergencies during normal business and after hours.
Master the housing rights of people with disabilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Fair Housing Act, As Amended in 1988.
Assist in the development and coordination of educational materials to partner agencies, property providers and external stakeholders.
Create and utilize data reports to assure success, monitor acquisitions rates and identify areas of improvements using company CRM software (Salesforce).
Ensure that supervisees maintain thorough and accurate progress notes, files, and correspondences while also maintaining confidentiality of tenants, and exercise appropriate boundaries with external partners.
Work with management to improve and streamline processes.
Disseminate programmatic, policy and process changes to staff in an effective manner.
Assist in the development of trainings for internal and external stakeholders Utilize the Unit Lead function in Salesforce to determine whether potential units are suitable for Housing Portfolio.
 
Requirements
Professional Experience 
Experience managing a team highly preferred.
2 or more years of experience working in real estate, sales, affordable housing and/or supportive housing, strongly preferred.
Knowledge of the LA County Housing market, trends, and landscape.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Knowledge in federal subsidy programs and processes.
Willingness to travel and make multiple visits in the field.
Possession of a valid California driver’s license, a clean driving record, and automobile insurance
Access to reliable transportation.
Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn proper use of various software programs, as needed.
Flexibility required regarding scheduling and prioritizing of tasks.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM software is preferred.
Housing Quality Standards knowledge and/or Certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements 
Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day.  Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation. 
 
Salary range for this position is $66,560 - $75,817 annually. This position is being offered at $66,560 annually.
