Senior Waterworks Plant Estimator - Sacramento, CA

This person will work closely with the Chief Estimator, Division Manager as well as ownership to ensure that the project are estimated correctly and the work is performed in an efficient manner
The ideal applicant must be hard-working and detail oriented
In need of a person that is capable of thinking outside the box and understands multi staged construction projects
Schedule / Work site: Monday Friday 90% of the time will be working from office and out in the field, some potential for remote, but not within the first 90 days. Work Location is in Sacramento, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide full estimating services on large, complex treatment plant and heavy civil construction projects
Preparation of project estimates to ensure all factors are properly considered, priced, and included in the estimate summary
Site visits and investigations
Conducting constructability studies
Researching of services for methods, costs and construction techniques
QUALIFICATIONS:
5 plus years of construction experience with at least 3-5 years of estimating
Ability to communicate effectively
Candidates must possess a strong work ethic
Work independently as well as part of a team
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Experience with HCSS - HeavyBid
Experience with Blue Beam, On Screen Take Off, Agtek
Experience in Alternative Delivery such as CMAR, CMGC, Design Build & Progressive Design Build

Must Have:
Experience working in Waterworks
Attitude is number one – their culture is that no task is under someone, and needs to be assertive and confident.
Core competencies of Myers include underground, mechanical, and concrete. Looking for some mixture of experience in all three.
Looking for someone who has done a variety of estimating on one project including pipe work, underground, mechanical, and turning and burning through estimates.
Someone who is open to doing 50 estimates a year from small-large projects.
Verifying turnaround time on estimates 60 mil 3-4 weeks while working on a smaller estimate and 3-10 mil projects within 1-2 weeks.
Would report to Waterworks Manager and working alongside another SR. Estimator and 2 direct reports.
Computer program experience: planswift bluebeam - can use MS Excel; Autocad or Agtech is good but just a plus
Must be in office/collaborate with other team members, will need to go onsite for site walks to ensure estimating was accurate or learn from potential mistakes.
*Would be interested in General Contractor who has 10 years prior experience in another area but recent 5-10 years of experience in Waterworks.*
NOT A FIT:
Someone who has a background with a water company with revenue projects in the billions (larger company) would not be a fit as they would specialize in a specific area such as concrete for the duration of the estimate/project.
Not interested in General contractor with no Waterworks experience or limited as the contracts are managed differently.
Not interested if background is in commercial, residential, tenant improvement.
Additional Information:
Interview Process: Resumes will be presented to Lead Project Manager, then will be passed to Sr. Manager, if Sr. Manager is interested in interviewing the candidate, will schedule a Phone/ In Person/ Video depending on the candidate\\\'s availability. Will likely have 2-3 interviews with the company before the offer.
