Job Description
The Community Relations Associate will provide essential support to the Community Relations Officer in developing and implementing communication strategies to strengthen relationships with parents and the broader community. This role involves creating insightful and engaging content directly informed by parent feedback to enhance early childhood partnerships. The Associate will work closely with parents to gather their perspectives, ensuring their voices are central in all communications.
Important and Essential Functions
Develop and maintain data-informed parent outreach mechanisms including CRM tailored to parent communications preferences.
Assist with design and implementation of a multi-modal and multilingual parent insights program with a focus on reaching those families traditionally excluded from access to power, policy development, and decision-making conversations.
Assist with the design and implementation of multilingual parent insights program including outreach and recruitment of interested participants, development of training and support materials, coordination of events and other outreach opportunities.
Cultivate relationships with trusted community partners to expand DEC’s recognition and presence at family-friendly events and venues.
Communicate, read, and write in Spanish including providing translation review, telephone, and meeting support for all DEC projects and divisions in compliance with DEC’s Language Access Policy.
Serve as secondary contact for reporting and monitoring the Department’s San Francisco Language Access Ordinance compliance.
Contribute content and serve as an editor for DEC external messaging to all target audiences including parents/families/caregivers, grantees, early childhood service providers, policymakers and advocacy organizations, other early childhood systems partners, and the media/press and public.
Participate in website, social media, and collateral material development and maintenance.
May perform other duties as assigned.
