Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Directs, structures, and manages the Office of Anti-Racism and Equity, including drafting strategic vision and operational plans.
Supervises, trains, and coaches’ staff in the Office of Anti-Racism and Equity. Ensure that staff have clear work plans and performance measures to reach section and branch goals.
Facilitates meetings, gives presentations, and communicates PHD plans for racial and health equity work to a variety of audiences, including DPH and PHD leadership, Heath Commission, and PHD staff.
Develops PowerPoints, reports, and other written materials to communicate about the status of racial equity plans and educate staff about racial and health equity.
Organizes activities for PHD racial equity leads and champions to facilitate their involvement in racial equity work and support their development as racial equity leaders, including working with staff to create content for bimonthly racial equity leads and champion meetings and developing processes for incorporating staff voice in racial equity work.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze workforce and population-wide equity data, such as results of staff surveys and human resources metrics, to assess progress and impact of internal racial equity work. Develop internal metrics and benchmarks to align with racial equity goal setting.
Guide the vision and direction of DPH’s food security work. Support the organization of the San Francisco Food Security Taskforce. Oversee the drafting of Biennial Food Security Report and Food Security Taskforce recommendations.
Interface with PHD staff who do external facing public health work to ensure that services and engagement reach communities with highest disparities and efforts support racial equity goals. Provide technical assistance to support completion of community health assessment.
Serve as divisional equity representative internally with the DPH Office of Health Equity and externally with the citywide Office of Racial Equity, San Francisco Dream Keeper Initiative, and other community stakeholders. Attend internal racial equity meetings and working groups; attend citywide racial equity convening’s; and participate in Dream Keeper Initiative management and strategy sessions. Attend community meetings and strategy sessions.
