Financial Analyst/Finance Manager

Double Fine Productions, Inc. (a Microsoft/Xbox company) is looking for a Financial Analyst/Finance Manager who will lead all financial planning and analysis for our studio.  This includes the long-range planning, budgeting, and forecasting of detailed product P&Ls alongside the producers and project leads for each game.  This role provides key financial support for the game teams and the leadership team, as well as other departments.

Responsibilities:
-  Work in the San Francisco Double Fine studio and become the primary point of contact for all financial aspects of the studio
- Ownership of sales forecasting, project planning/spending and reporting (P&L, Revenue Forecasting, Long Range Plans, Cash Forecast etc.)
- Overseeing and maintaining product P&L’s, including communicating with product owners and cost center owners regarding P&L cost allocations
- Creation and maintenance of P&L’s required to meet Microsoft’s reporting standards
- Manage AP, AR, and assist with payroll functions (including 401k contributions and out-of-state tax registrations)
- Creation and maintenance of 3rd party development royalty calculations and coordination with accounting in calculating, recording, and coordinating invoices for both incoming and outgoing royalties
- Monitor, analyze, and report on internal and external development costs
- Working with the Director of Development to create financial models for evaluating potential investments in new games
- Working with the Director of Operations to ensure that all disbursements are tracked and paid on time
- Crafting P&L’s and analyses for presentations including Budget Presentations, Quarterly Business Reviews, Monthly Business Reviews, etc. collaborating with all areas of the business to cultivate content
- Assist in month close activities such as accruals and credit card entries, working with our longtime (contractor) accountant, ensure that all monthly close submissions to Microsoft are accurate and timely
- Learning, applying, and communicating accounting standards applicable to the gaming industry throughout the studio’s financial planning and modeling
- Provide financial input, review, and approvals for all contracts and agreements
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in financial management positions
- Experience in PC/Mobile/Console gaming or software industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field required
- Experience in creating product or profit center P&Ls and strong experience in financial modeling
- Ability to work independently at a detailed level
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability to work in the San Francisco Bay Area

Salary Range: $90k - $125k (compensation based on experience)
