Litigation Paralegal

Direct Counsel is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a national law firm in their San Francisco office. As a key member of this team, you will play a vital role in supporting their attorneys by conducting legal research, managing case files, and preparing essential documents. Ideal candidates will have experience with personal injury, property damage and insurance defense litigation.
Responsibilities:
Case Management:
Continuously review and manage case files from inception through mediation, arbitration, trial, and settlement.
Prepare subpoenas for depositions and document productions.
Handle initial discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions.
Draft responses to discovery, create document productions, and maintain privilege logs.
Deposition Preparation:
Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions.
Research and engage with subject matter experts.
E-file documents in both State and Federal Court systems.
Monitor deadlines and ensure timely responses.
Document Preparation:
Create legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, fact/medical chronologies, agreements, and trial/mediation binders.
Investigate facts as requested by attorneys.
Prepare trial-related materials, including notebooks, exhibit lists, and witness schedules.
Trial Support:
Attend trials as necessary.
Collaborate in witness management and trial presentation.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of general civil litigation experience.
Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
Proficient in using the internet and computer applications.
