Mechanical Engineer (Project Transition)

The Contractor shall provide mechanical engineering assistance for technical reviews, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using TileFlow software, commissioning coordination/oversight/duties, assist the Government project managers in transitioning and closing out of all projects from the project team to the maintenance team, maintain and report equipment warranty dates, maintain and report on warranty actions, serve as lead for system failures to determine the failures root cause, and provide maintenance recommendations supporting those projects. In addition, provide technical reviews and recommendations to the Government representative regarding improvements to energy efficiency to reduce the Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) of the data centers in regards to the maintenance and operations of existing systems, drafting SOW/PWS, cost estimates and acquisition package requirements for recommendations approved by the Government and review whole scale upgrades with a positive Return on Investment (ROI). It is estimated that eight (8) individual site visits annually will be required to support these subtasks. These services require access to classified information up to the Secret level and access to NIPR in order to review facilities reports and mission partner documentation. Classified information will be provided verbally or through hard copy reports/documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
Experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) TileFlow or equivalent program, 5 years of experience in energy engineering or energy management with a focus on energy conservation for critical facilities; experience with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); 3 years of experience in building automation systems (BAS).
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) AP by the US Green Building Council or equivalent program; Must be proficient with office automation software (i.e. MS Office); Professional Engineering License preferred.
