Tax accountant role within a forward thinking accountancy practice, they are an international chartered practice and business consultancy. A family founded and run independent firm with first hand commercial and international experience. To perform the day-to-day tax accountant role, for multiple clients with accuracy, diligence and professionalism. The production of timely, accurate and reliable corporate tax returns, corporate tax provisions and CT estimates including QIPs calculations. The production of timely, accurate and reliable VAT returns, P11D and PSA returns, and personal tax returns. Working to and adherence to Withall & Co and Client, processes, procedures and accounting/tax policies. The proactive communication and coordination of the clients accounting, tax and payroll information needs with Withall & Co staff and management, and the Client's management and staff.

Tax Accountant Position Overview

Assist with the preparation of corporate tax returns, personal tax returns and filings.
Compute taxes owed ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
Review provisions (including tax accounting schedules) and final tax computations.
Assist with the drafting of Statutory accounts notes with regard to taxation notes and disclosures for review by the accounting management team.
Assist with requests for information from clients for information to enable the accurate and complete processing of CT returns, VAT returns, Personal tax returns audit files, P11D's and PSA submissions.
Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on clients' behalf to ensure it processes client returns efficiently and accurately.
Provide the required assistance and support to both external and internal client auditors with regard to tax enquiries.
Respond promptly to requests for information from the client's finance team, and from their legal, tax and other external advisers.
Assist where required with budgeting planning, forecasting and variance analysis.
Provide where requested detailed information in a timely and responsive way.
Prepare VAT control reconciliation and reconcile to Vat returns. Test transactions to ensure transactions are correctly treated and comply with UK VAT regulations. Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns for accounting management to review.
Assist and manage the expenses process to ensure compliance with the Client's expense policy, and compliance with VAT, payroll regulations, and record and assist with filing of P11D returns and PSA submissions. Highlight exceptions to management/the client.
Manage the P11D submission process coordinating with the payroll and accounting staff ensuring consistency of approach and accurate and timely filing in accordance with the deadlines.
Work and comply with the client's agreed internal processes and local and group accounting requirements and policies. Report exceptions to processes/policies proactively to manager and client.
An awareness and sensitivity with regard to client communication ensuring the maintenance and confidentiality of secure and sensitive information and compliance with GDPR.
Prepare and maintain clear and accurate client files, both permanent data and working files, paper and electronic
Record and plan work efficiently and effectively to allow managers to coordinate peaks and troughs of work. Work with team colleagues respecting their deadlines and workloads.
Review and accounting records with manager on a regular basis.
Compliance with client accounting policies.

Tax Accountant Position Requirements

Educated to graduate level or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
A qualified member of the Association of Taxation Technicians ATT. Training support to progress to chartered tax advisor CTA.
Experience in P11D/PSA is essential
Experience of working across a number of clients and the ability to work on several issues simultaneously and coping with a busy office environment.
An organised and meticulous approach to work, with a flexible attitude and enquiring mind.
The ability to compile multiple monthly management financial reports to deadlines.
A good working knowledge of Corporate tax, personal tax and payroll issues.
Good knowledge of UK GAAP.
Good working knowledge of Caseware CT, PTP tax platform, HMRC online portal, Xero, QuickBooks (or similar) accounting software.
Experience of working within a team environment.
Sector experience International, Technology, Biosciences, Property, Manufacturing, and Retail.
