Farm.One, located in the vibrant neighborhood of Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, is a unique indoor vertical farming company that integrates sustainable agriculture with an onsite farm brewery. We grow specialty salad greens, microgreens, herbs and edible flowers for local chefs, restaurants and retail consumers. Our onsite brewery and taproom - The Brew Lab - serves a variety of craft beers, wine and specialty cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), many of which use distinctive ingredients sourced from the farm. We are a chic hub of urban farming innovation, brewing craftsmanship, and amazing event experiences.
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Taproom Bartender to fill our Thursday through Sunday shifts who is passionate about craft beer, creative cocktails, sustainable agriculture and providing exceptional customer service in a retail setting.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation and Service
Serve a variety of craft beer, wine and specialty cocktails 
Educate customers about Farm.One beer and cocktails
Assist customers in making beverage selections
Verify beers on tap meet our serving standards
Maintain knowledge of tap list and our brewing processes
Ensure all beverages are served with attention to detail and in accordance with our standards
Check IDs and ensure compliance with all laws regarding safe service of alcohol
Customer Engagement and Education
Provide a welcoming, informative experience to guests
Highlight connections between beverages and ingredients grown on-site
Engage in interactions related to sustainability, urban farming and brewing
Assist and guide customers in the retail area, helping them understand our products 
Operational Efficiency
Perform opening and closing duties of the taproom
Ensure the bar area is clean, well-organized, and well-stocked for service
Ensure the taproom is properly setup and prepared for service
Monitor customers, cleanliness, safety, and supplies during shifts
On-shift oversight and training of bar back staff
Assist in managing inventory of beverages and bar supplies
Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations related to F&B service
Participate in team deep cleans of the taproom
Answer the phone and take messages as needed
Other duties as assigned
Team Collaboration and Support
A readiness and desire to assist co-workers as needed
Work with other staff members relative to farm tours, special events, and promotions
Support the retail team by participating in the sale of farm products, including fresh produce and merchandise
Qualifications
Proven experience as a bartender 
Passionate about craft beer
Willing to learn about vertical farming and its impact on brewing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage customers and provide a memorable experience
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
NYC Food Handlers Card is a plus
Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid TIPS certification or equivalent.
Ability to reliably work shifts Thursday through Sunday, including split shifts depending on the day. Shift hours are Thursday 2:30pm to 10:30pm, Friday 2:30pm to 11:30pm (split), Saturday 12:30pm to 11:30pm (split), and Sunday 12:30pm to 8:30pm
A willingness to be flexible about schedule when necessary
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Must be able to move and change kegs
