Do you want to make a difference?  AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Traffic Analyst/Microsimulation Specialist to provide in-house consulting services with Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.  Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is a part of the Florida Department of Transportation and consists of over 500 miles of limited access roadways across the State of Florida. The candidate will be part of a dynamic team, working on a wide variety of high-profile projects across Florida. This candidate will have the opportunity to bring original ideas and be on the forefront of planning and design that support future transportation improvements on existing roadways and new corridors.   
 
This position allows the candidate to explore and conduct analysis in connected/automated vehicles, managed lanes, innovative designs, and multi-resolution applications. The candidate will participate in the development, calibration, and application of small, medium and large-scale micro-simulation models. Strong emphasis will be placed on technical understanding of traffic engineering/planning principles, writing and communication skills, and the ability to ensure delivery excellence. 
 
The position is located in Pompano Beach, Florida. 
 
Job Summary
Participate in transportation planning assignments including micro-simulation, corridor studies, safety studies, Interchange Access Request (IAR) documentation and Transportation System Management and Operations (TSM&O) studies.
Conduct traffic analysis for Project Development and Environment (PD&E) and Design projects using HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, and Visum/Vissim software.
Analyze crash data and conduct predictive safety analysis. 
Prepare Typical Section, Equivalent Single Axle Loads (ESAL) and Lane Closure analysis memorandums for design projects.
Collect traffic data or perform surveys in the field when needed.
Coordinate with other technical disciplines including conceptual design, environmental management, traffic operations, right of way and others to develop recommendations for proposed improvements.
Assist with written reports and presentations of project findings that support PD&E studies, Design/Concept projects, signal warrant analysis and corridor retiming studies.
