What you will be doing:
As a Financial Analyst, you’ll have your finger on the financial pulse of the entire organization. Working with a diverse team, you’ll be responsible develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control.
About the team:
This team provides finance support to the Chief Information Officer organization (CIO). CIO is responsible for providing a platform for FIS’ fast-growing and ever-changing array of applications and software solutions. CIO is a leveraged technology function mandated to increase efficiency and effectiveness through innovation in processes and technology.
Our group is organized to provide finance support for three core platforms that align with our main product categories: Merchant, Banking, and Capital Markets Solutions. We also support other business operations functions that service the overall infrastructure, these functions include: Cloud Services (interfacing with vendors such as AWS, Azure and Google), ITSM (leveraging the ServiceNow platform), Artificial Intelligence and International Infrastructure.
The CIO Finance team offers FP&A and accounting support for our business partners, as well as assistance in creating business cases and decision support. Maintaining strong relationships with our business partners is critical for success in this role. Financial acumen and a willingness to gain familiarity with the economic impact of the group’s operations will allow CIO Finance as a team to provide value to the groups we support.
CIO Finance strives to hold a position of strategic value in the eyes of our business partners. On top of the value delivered by a traditional FP&A function, our aim is to continuously enhance the information and insights we provide to inform business decisions at the executive level. Our roadmap to achieve this includes process redesign, usage of automation tools such as Alteryx, and streamlined reporting through Power BI and Tableau. A member of this team must be committed to driving change and taking part in this process improvement.  
What you will be doing:
Perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance.
Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts.
Meet with organizational unit/department managers to discuss and establish timelines and methodologies for completing budgets.
Research and compile data to forecast and prepare annual and monthly budget projections for a division or similar group of organizations.
Track revenue and expenses on a monthly basis, comparing actual to forecasted figures and make necessary adjustments.
Perform economic research and studies in areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.
Prepare reports for management summarizing results of research, analyses and evaluation of any discrepancies.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree is required, Finance or Accounting highly preferred
Typically a minimum of 5 years of Corporate Finance experience
Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as well as company accounting policies, procedures and standards
Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools
Analytical and statistical examination skills
Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical deadlines are met
