Role Overview
As the Economics and Insights Manager in CMSPI’s Insights team, you will be responsible for spearheading alongside CMSPI’s Chief Economist the success of CMSPI’s Insights Advisory Council (IAC), a steering group of payments experts from CMSPI’s biggest clients. Day-to-day, you will be project managing the IAC’s flagship publication, the State of the Industry Report (SOIR) and driving forward a number of key strategic initiatives for CMSPI’s Leadership, Delivery and Partnership teams. Your role will have an impact right away, forming the basis of our work with the world’s largest businesses and shaping CMSPI’s strategic consultancy.
The key focus areas include:
Actively participate in Insights Advisory Council (IAC) meetings by leading portions of the agenda including breakout rooms and create the agenda for our first annual Client Summit
Project manage the IAC’s flagship publication, the State of the Industry Report (SOIR)
Lead regular 1-2-1 meetings with IAC members for relationship building purposes and to gather SOIR feedback
Reviewer of the State of the Industry Report (SOIR) and other team outputs
Produce market research on key industry suppliers and emerging industry products and trends.
Collaborate with internal leaders and client relationship managers regarding negotiation strategies with payments industry partners.
Assist with managing partner relationships by providing content within IAC-developed framework
Emerging markets liaison with COO and other senior stakeholders
Producing written content, content for events and presenting at events
Strategic support for CMSPI’s Leadership team, in conjunction with the Chief Economist
Requirements
You are a great match if you...
Educated to undergraduate degree level with a minimum overall 3.3 GPA in an Economics-related discipline with a high level of numeracy skills
3 years’ business experience (including internships) with exposure to the payments industry
PowerBI/SQL experience is desired
Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities with the ability to apply logic, creativity, and problem-solving techniques
Experience using Microsoft Office and especially strong skills using Microsoft Excel to analyze data
Excellent written skills – ability to write in an insightful, accurate and persuasive manner
Proven client-facing capabilities with a background managing client relationships
An appetite to learn, and the ability to present market research insights in an engaging way to influence business decisions
Project Management skills including strong organizational skills, the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at any one time
