Job Description
The Associate Director, Crisis Management implements strategies that gives AbbVie the ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from global crisis events which threaten AbbVie people, assets, and business. Responsibilities include working with the Senior Director, Crisis Management and Business Resilience with leading the company’s global crisis management program, which is comprised of more than 80 Crisis Action Teams, as well as facilitation of the Executive Crisis Management Team. The Associate Director in this role will have the opportunity to work in a high-performing team that delivers crisis management, business continuity, business risk intelligence, and global security command center programs on behalf of the organization.
Responsibilities
Development, implementation, and execution of business-specific crisis management and business continuity plans in partnership with the Associate Director, Business Continuity and relevant Regional Security teams.
Validate crisis management and business continuity plans through regular tabletop exercises, primarily of functional Crisis Action Teams (CATs), but also collaborating with the Regional Security teams with site and country CATs as needed.
Monitor potential and active crisis situations and provide regular updates to the Senior Director.
Serve as a backup to the Senior Director for facilitation of the Executive Crisis Management Team, and and as a Global Security representative on select Crisis Action Teams allowing for the Senior Director to focus more on the ECMT while the Associate Director focuses on the sites.
Influence decisions around training and awareness programs on crisis management for employees enterprise wide.
Provide insight in the preparation and analysis of crisis management metrics and reports for senior leadership and other high-visibility products, e.g., annual Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Action Report.
Lead and serve departmental and cross-functional teams/committees for LRP projects and culture initiatives. Work collaboratively with, and provide Crisis Management subject matter expertise to, Global Security functions including, but not limited to: Business Risk Intelligence, Global Security Operations Center, Regional Security, and Security Systems.
Manage competing priorities, including concurrent crisis events, escalating to senior leadership and stakeholders as necessary. Time management and continuous task prioritization is crucial to delivering timely support services in this dynamic, fast paced environment.
