Tax Staff

Hire Resolve's client, a prestigious accounting firm in Chicago, IL, is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SALT (State and Local Tax) Staff Tax Accountant to join their team. The firm specializes in providing comprehensive tax and advisory services to a diverse client base.
In this role, the SALT Staff Tax Accountant will be responsible for assisting with state and local tax compliance, planning, and research. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SALT, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Their industries include Manufacturing, Distribution, Real Estate, Construction, Tech, Start-Ups .
Responsibilities:
Assist with state and local tax compliance and reporting
Research and analyze state and local tax issues and regulations
Prepare and review state and local tax returns
Assist with state and local tax planning and consulting for clients
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and address questions or concerns
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects
Requirements
Bachelor's/Masters degree in Accounting or related field
1-3 years of experience in SALT or general tax accounting
CPA or CPA candidate preferred (150 Credits)
Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
Strong communication and client service skills
Complete workpapers and prepare franchise and income tax returns for various states, including exemptions, credits, and incentives. 
Prepare tax resolution notices, gather data, and assist in tax field exams. 
Participate in continuing education classes to stay up to date on accounting standards and tax law. 
Other projects as assigned.
