The Team
We are seeking an Executive Chef to join our team, responsible for overseeing, planning, organizing, and leading the Culinary Team in accordance with Living Room's policies and standards. As the Executive Chef, you should possess exceptional culinary expertise, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of People & Culture principles. Your primary objective is to take all necessary measures to ensure that Living Room's Culinary Team operates at peak efficiency while consistently meeting our high standards of excellence.
The Role
Menu Development: Create and innovate menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, global culinary trends, and the unique identity of our establishment. Ensure the offerings are well-balanced and cater to various dietary preferences.
Kitchen Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of culinary professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, emphasizing teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement.
Staff Management: Manage staff schedules, payroll, kitchen setup/breakdown, production, and prep. Ensure staff members adhere to proper uniform standards.
Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control standards for all dishes leaving the kitchen. Ensure that presentation, taste, and portion sizes consistently meet our high standards.
Cost Management: Oversee the kitchen's financial aspects, including budgeting, cost analysis, and inventory management. Strive to optimize costs while maintaining the highest level of quality.
Food Safety: Implement and enforce stringent food safety and sanitation practices to ensure the well-being of our guests and compliance with health regulations.
Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts, and sourcing the finest quality ingredients.
Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to the culinary team, enhancing their skills and nurturing their growth within the organization.
Creativity and Innovation: Stay abreast of culinary trends, experiment with new techniques and ingredients, and introduce fresh concepts to keep our offerings exciting and innovative.
Member Experience: Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience, addressing guest feedback and striving for excellence in all aspects of service.
The Ideal Candidate
A passion for creating exquisite culinary experiences that captivate the palate and delight guests with every dish.
An understanding of culinary arts, including advanced cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and the ability to craft innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and global influences.
Strong culinary skills, including precision in food preparation, plating, and presentation, as well as a deep knowledge of various cuisines and culinary trends.
The ability to lead and inspire a culinary team, maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Experience in upscale or fine dining establishments, demonstrating a track record of culinary excellence and creativity in menu development.
Requirements
A culinary virtuoso with a minimum of 4-5+ years of experience in high-volume, culturally diverse culinary environments.
Culinary training and an unwavering passion for continuous Chef development and innovation.
Proficiency in effectively managing P&Ls, labor, purchasing, vendor relationships, and stringent quality control standards.
A track record of consistent and stable work history, demonstrating the ability to excel both independently and as a dynamic culinary leader.
Possession of a Food Serve Safe certification and comprehensive knowledge of local sanitation regulations.
Exceptional email etiquette, adept written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience in team leadership and overseeing large-scale food production operations.
A high school diploma or equivalent trade school certification to support your culinary journey.
