Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Handler (MH) position focuses on the movement of product throughout the DC, loading and unloading of trailers, and use of Red Prairie WMS to record the movement. The Material Handler must be certified to operate all Powered Industrial Trucks, focusing on safety and efficiency. Additionally, this is NOT 100% driving; there are plenty of other tasks associated with our MH roles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Become proficient with Red Prairie WMS and learn to use an RF Scanner.
Maintain forklift license at all times.
Safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks to move product within the DC.
Load and unload trailers; both with PIT’s and hand loading.
Pull, deliver and stage all materials needed, verifying they are correct to the appropriate area.
Post weights and shipping charges and prepare goods for final shipment.
Re-verify material weight and product quantity for shipment of finished product.
Prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped (PO’s, BOL’s, receipts, LTL logs, etc.).
Examine, stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines to ensure multiple rooms are stocked with all items needed throughout the work day.
Remove empty skids from racks and warehouse.
Utilize the YCP to weigh waste and rework (reclaim tablets, capsules, and netting), completing all necessary paperwork, discarding and delivering it to their appropriate area.
Utilize company ERP system to perform inventory transactions, completing all necessary paperwork.
Communicate inventory discrepancies to the correct personnel.
Remove all finished goods from departments using the yield calculation program (YCP) and radio frequency (RF) Gun unit to weigh and transport materials to the next step.
Maintain a clean work environment at all times, including but not limited to hygiene practices.
Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Demonstrate adaptability to rotate across all Material Handler functions.
May use (but not limited to) power equipment such as a forklift, hand tools, and other devices operated in a warehouse environment (i.e. electric jacks, sit down, stand ups, and cherry picker forklifts for applicable area(s)).

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Operation of some PIT’s may require operator to work at heights of 24 feet.
