Job Description
A scientist applying for this position must understand, be conversant and have demonstrated experience with the biological and ecological concepts related to water resources and have a firm understanding of federal, state and local regulatory programs. An emphasis will be placed on candidates with the following skillsets:
Wetland delineation experience in Minnesota, with an added emphasis to those candidates already certified for wetland delineations
Regional experience in botanical surveys and Minnesota certifications for rare species surveys
Regulatory experience pertaining to local, state, and federal permitting and NEPA compliance
Experience working on projects or studies related to the Wetland Conservation Act, Clean Water Act, ecology, wildlife habitat, water quality issues, and stream channel assessments
Demonstrated project management and business development experience.
The preferred candidate needs to illustrate the ability to work independently, apply reasoning skills and logic to reach technical conclusions, and have an aptitude and desire to tackle new and challenging issues. The ability to conduct field work associated with wetland delineations, biological assessments, and independently develop and prepare technical reports with a moderate amount of guidance is a necessity. Occasional travel necessary. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with project management experience and direct experience interacting with clients.
