Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our team. The Payroll Assistant will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the payroll process, including data entry, payroll processing, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in payroll and a strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll for all employees
- Enter and maintain accurate employee information in the payroll system
- Ensure all payroll data is entered correctly and accurately
- Verify and reconcile employee hours, overtime, and bonuses
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve any issues or discrepancies
- Prepare and process payroll reports for management
- Assist with year-end payroll processes and reporting
- Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Minimum of  1-2 years experience in payroll processing
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with payroll software preferred
