This posting is for a post-doc fellow who will contribute substantively to the research, training, and educational activities of CNS. CNS anticipates that the post-doctoral fellow will focus on nuclear nonproliferation and arms controls issues pertaining to China. This is a term-limited, full-time, position. Duration of the position is between 9 to 15 months. It is anticipated that the individual selected for the position will work at either the CNS DC or CNS Monterey office.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The candidate should have a demonstrated subject matter expertise related to Chinese arms nonproliferation and security issues.
Reading proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is required.
Excellent English writing and communication skills
Expertise in both science and policy issues, including familiarity with new disruptive technologies and their security implications, is desirable but not necessary. 
Capable of multi-tasking and working in dynamic environment.
Organizational and project management skills essential.
Demonstrated superior written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, and strong copy editing abilities.
Compensation for this position is $32.68/hour (CNS3A)
Requirements
Education
Ph.D. must be in hand before arrival. However, a pre-doctoral fellowship for advanced Ph.D. students will also be considered.
Experience
The candidate should have demonstrated policy or research experience related to Chinese arms control and security issues.
Physical Demands

Position requires light to moderate physical effort and the ability to work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
