Being an Operations Analyst requires a diverse set of skills to effectively gather, interpret, project, and communicate data-driven insights. Crucial part of analysis and reporting is collecting accurate reliable data. The Operations Analyst will work hand in hand with the Quality Engineering team, Defect Management, and report into the Operations & Trials Manager. They will collaborate closely with their managers across various quality & engineering teams spanning the Comcast/Sky/NBCU family of companies by supporting core initiatives, building collaborative working groups, sharing knowledge, expertise, and tooling. This role will assist in the development and design of new reporting tools and dashboards to displaying the collective output of the working teams to our leadership teams across the Global Streaming Platform organization.
Key to this role is a person with an analytical mindset and the ability to examine data, identify trends, patterns, relationships and draw conclusions from the information on gaps, and identify areas of improvements and need for establishment of new processes. Analyst must exhibit Data Management skills with the ability to clearly define the date types to be captured and measured to ensure it aligns with the project’s goals and objectives. Analyst must constantly monitor the data collection process to identify any potential issues, enhancements, or inconsistencies in the data source, (Jira) and make updates to, SQL/JQL queries, effected by changes in JIRA database, forms, fields, flows, to allow for timely corrective actions and ensuring data accuracy throughout the project needed for reliable reporting. Analyst must have the capability to manipulate and prepare the data in more agile ways that respond to business needs more quickly and effectively and can be highlighted to the executives. Analyst must have quantitative skills in working with numbers and data, including statistical analysis, data modeling, along with data visualization skills in being able to present holistic data in visually compelling manner through graphs and charts to aid understanding and decision making by executives.
Align with QA Engineering, Defect Management, Trials, and Operational QA teams to support data collection, integration and reporting strategies.
Build and maintain dashboards and tools from various data sources and systems including but not limited to Adobe Analytics, Jira, Confluence, Qmetry and Test Rail.
Demonstrable experience with agile delivery methodology, test tools and defect management.
Assist the Operations Manager in gathering feedback from PMO, QA and engineering teams to drive alignment and resolution.
Ensure that all data and quality metrics are accurate and reflecting them in all deliverables.
Assist the Trials team with reporting enhancements to deliver robust quantitative data insights.
Comfortable working in a team setting and asking questions to achieve data driven goals.
Researching and recommending innovative technologies and techniques.
Inclination to learn the Trials process.
