Landfill Gas Project Engineer

The Landfill Fill Gas Project Engineer will collaborate closely with fellow engineers and CAD technicians on various landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS) design related projects in Charlotte, NC. These projects are both stimulating and offer unique design opportunities. Your responsibilities will include designing GCCS for beneficial use or best management practices, as well as managing and preparing all required reports according to NSPS, NESHAP, or facility permit regulations. The projects are complex and require a combination of civil, environmental, and chemical engineering skills. Brand new, already operational, and closed solid waste facilities pose diverse challenges, ensuring that there is never a dull moment and no one-size-fits-all solution for every similar situation.
Duties
Projects will include landfill GCCS-related site development projects: developing master plans, design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
Preparing various types of related reports and studies to secure permitting and maintain compliance for projects.
Drafting work for scoping/conceptual work/engineering packages.
Position will require some travel to clients’ facilities to better understand design issues and to monitor construction progress.
Requirements
Minimum requirements include a BS in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering,
E.I.T. required.
Intent to obtain Professional Engineer license,
Minimum 4 years of engineering experience, including solid waste, air permitting, or closely related projects.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D.
Ideal candidate has the traits of a team player who is enthusiastic about all aspects of engineering and project management and can lead projects from planning and preliminary engineering through design and construction.
Must have good communication skills, be a team player and be able to relate well to project team, clients, regulators, and contractors.
