yThis recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Technician positions within University Information & Technology-Customer Experience (UITCX) at Oregon State University (OSU). UITCX is a diverse organization made up of 70+ student employees and 20 full-time staff of varying backgrounds working in several functional areas: Service Desk, Community Network, Campus Operators, and Campus Labs. ISCS student technicians are the first line of technical support to the OSU community. Position Duties Help OSU community members with their technology needs via phone, email or in-person Provide excellent customer service Participate in a team-oriented environment Research and troubleshoot technology issues and questions Configure and repair computers Install software Document customer requests Write documentation Help with cleaning and maintenance of work spaces Help train other technicians Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Employment Eligibility Requirements ( Additional Required Qualifications Eligible to work as an OSU student, and able to work at least 10 hours/week Must have at least one full year left of school before graduating (i.e, must not graduate before Spring 2022) Willing to provide excellent customer service Communicates well in-person and in writing Willing to learn new things and interested in at least one area of technology Attention to detail and excellent follow-through Ability to attend work regularly and on-time Good problem-solving skills & decision-making ability Basic computer skills Possess CJIS clearance or the ability to obtain it as necessary This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576- 055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
