About the Role
The Internal Communications & Events Specialist is responsible for implementing internal communications & events to educate and engage our team members.  This role will be responsible for the internal communications, events and activities which drive our culture and help our team members easily understand information as it relates to the company’s culture, promotions, services, training, and community/volunteer interests.
Position Responsibilities
Coordinate the daily operations of the internal communications programs, Culture Club, team member events and recognition programs within the organization, including planning and execution;
Maintain policies and standard operating processes for all internal communications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of distributed information;
Create, publish, and record weekly property-wide informational communications and monthly calendar of events (for team members).
Develop strong relationships with internal subject matter experts, working closely across business departments to understand their ongoing priorities, and ensure messages are delivered clearly and effectively;
Plan, coordinate and execute team member events and volunteer activities.
Monitor content and quality of the company intranet so it remains dynamic and relevant for all team members;
Write, review, proofread, edit, coordinate, and distribute content/communications internally, securing the necessary approvals as appropriate and utilizing all relevant channels;
Develop and manage project plans and timelines associated with internal communications campaigns and events, providing project updates as needed;
Contribute to the development of a strategy that promotes Ocean Casino Resort  as a great place to work;
Strong emphasis on writing and content development, internal guest service, managing internal intranet and planning and executing on team member events and volunteer activities.
Oversee the annual team member survey and work with the departments to establish action plans based on survey results.
Essential Functions
Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and hectic environments.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Must be able to stand, sit, bend and twist for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the casino/hotel areas
Must be able to lift/pull up to 25 pounds
Must be able to work holidays, weekends and flexible shift hours when needed
Requirements
Ability to effectively communicate in English (Read, Write, Speak & Understand).
Bachelor’s degree required; Marketing, Journalism, Communications or Business-related field of study preferred or the equivalent of;
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Communications, preferably with a focus on Internal communications
Strong writing skills and ability to create a variety of content for communications;
Knowledge of current communication concepts, practices, and procedures;
Knowledge of the digital landscape, social media sites, and online practices.
Strong organizational and event planning skills;
Ability to function with a wide degree of creativity and latitude;
High proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
 Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign;
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and tasks;
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels within the organization.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
