Overview:
CNC Recruitment is looking for skilled Sewing Machine Operators to join our prestigious client in Somerton - expert industrial textile sewing company specialising in Ground Support Equipment for the global aviation industry. Our client is one of the UK's leader manufacturing specialised in producing covers for everything from large aircraft to helicopters, light aircraft, cars, bicycles, motorbikes, sea/canal boats, garden furniture, tooling & industrial equipment, music speakers & instruments and more.
As a Sewing Machine Operator you will operate and maintains sewing machines to stitch together fabric, leather, or other materials in the production of various items.
Job Types: Temp to perm, Permanent
Working hours: Monday to Thursday or Monday to Friday, day shift, no less than 36 per week
Responsibilities:
* Operating Sewing Machines: Set up and operate industrial sewing machines according to specifications for the product being manufactured.
* Stitching: Stitch together fabric pieces or other materials based on patterns, templates, or specific instructions.
* Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, including proper stitching, alignment, and measurements.
* Material Handling: Handle and feed fabric or other materials through the sewing machine, adjusting tension, pressure, and stitch length as needed.
* Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with sewing machines, such as thread breaks, jams, or irregular stitching.
* Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines, including cleaning, oiling, and replacing parts as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, such as designers, pattern makers, and supervisors, to meet production deadlines and quality requirements.
* Following Instructions: Follow instructions, blueprints, or technical specifications accurately to produce items according to desired specifications.
* Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries in the workplace.
Requirements:
* Experience: Previous experience as an industrial sewing machinist or similar role is preferred.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and understanding of different stitching techniques and patterns.
* Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and ability to maintain high quality standards in finished products.
* Teamwork: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues with sewing machines and find practical solutions to ensure uninterrupted production.
* Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changes in production schedules, materials, or processes as needed.
