Job Title: Junior Accountant
Job Summary:We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The Junior Accountant will support various accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and preparing payments.
Support accounts receivable activities, such as invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
Assist with the maintenance of the general ledger by recording journal entries and reconciling accounts.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports under the guidance of senior staff.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
Assist with the annual audit process by providing supporting documentation and explanations as needed.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting-related issues and inquiries.
Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Stay informed about accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
1+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role is desirable but not required.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.
CPA or CPA candidate is a plus but not required.
