CONSTRUCTION VICE-PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

Position Objective:As Vice President of Operations, you will be instrumental in setting and achieving the company's strategic goals. This role involves managing the development, operations, and financial aspects of our services and products, ensuring alignment with the company's overall vision and objectives. Key responsibilities include optimizing workforce utilization, meeting production and revenue projections within budget, and executing the company's strategic goals. You will work closely with the CEO to establish and implement operating policies, being directly accountable for P&L, client relations, and operations management. Your insights will be crucial in analyzing market and financial conditions and their impact on our operations.
Job Requirements:
Serve on the Executive Management Team.
Monitor and manage overhead costs in relation to total project volumes.
Participate in project evaluation meetings and bid reviews.
Approve and oversee department budgets.
Ensure projects are completed on budget, on time, and meet the company's quality standards.
Address and resolve variance issues, working with department managers to prevent future occurrences.
Set clear performance expectations for your team, providing necessary support and direction.
Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a calm and positive demeanor under pressure.
Hold primary profit/loss responsibility for operational units.
Oversee procurement to ensure project needs are met efficiently.
Direct, measure, and report on project progress.
Hire, manage, and evaluate staff.
Ensure a safe and secure worksite.
Liaise with Bonding, Insurance, Subcontractors, and Vendors.
Possess well-developed interpersonal skills to engage with diverse personalities.
Qualifications/Skills:
Proven leadership experience and management practice knowledge.
Demonstrated project and budget management skills.
Strong business acumen and understanding of fundamental business principles.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Ability to strategize and drive process improvement.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for consensus-building in high-pressure environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ProCore.
Familiarity with various construction delivery methods.
Experience in multiple construction sectors such as K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, Municipalities, Sport Complex, Multifamily.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in business, accounting, or related field; MBA or equivalent graduate degree preferred.
5-10 years of supervisory experience in operations or a related field.
Experience managing multiple teams and previous P&L responsibility.
Exceptional organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of development/construction software and programs.
